In Their Own Words
“I want the future to be better than the present, and that can only happen if older generations guide the younger generations the right way.” – Javonte, on being a mentor to his peers.
“[It’s] about setting goals without making excuses...I now realize that anything is possible.” – Stephanie, on what she learned this year.
“If no one wants to be the change I want to happen, then I have to step up…Knowledge is power, and I can use that to make the world a better place.” – Lazel, on being a leader.
Student Achievement
Right now, more than 16,000 KIPP students across the country are tenaciously putting in the extra work necessary to succeed in college and the competitive world beyond. Our KIPPsters are proving that, with hard work and determination, they can achieve beyond expectations. More than 95 percent of students are matriculating to college-prep high schools—earning more than $25 million in scholarships and financial aid since 2000. And more than 80 percent of KIPP students nationwide have gone on to college.
