KIPP’s 2008 New Site Selection round for interested communities to submit proposals for the 2010-11 school year is now closed.

The New Site Selection process enables KIPP to partner with community coalitions that have demonstrated the commitment and resources necessary to support the growth of multiple KIPP schools within that community over time. Specifically, KIPP seeks to establish a strong level of local support for acquiring the funding, facilities, operating freedoms, and talented individuals needed for KIPP to succeed in a new city.

KIPP unveiled its first national New Site Selection process in the summer of 2006, with the goal of identifying new communities in which we would expand our network of schools. Two new sites were selected as priorities for KIPP’s expansion in for a 2008 opening: Columbus, OH and the Twin Cities, MN.. For our second round, St. Louis, MO was selected for KIPP expansion for a 2009 opening. We are currently in the process of selecting our next city for a 2010 opening, which will be announced in late 2008.
